Oils and wood carvings
Personal of Igino Stella
An artist with a child’s eyes
We receive and we publish from Maria Korzeniecki.
“In the last period, at Palazzo dei Capitani, several exhibitions have been organized and dedicated to some artists of Ascoli. They demonstrate with their work the validity of the commitment in the field of the visual art, which is often recognised in the national field. From 18th November to 7th December, at the municipal palace, it has been easy to meet a seventy years old ‘child’. He is calm with vaguely absent round eyes, in love with the surrounding forms, and he shows the fruit of his artistic research of thirty year. I’m talking about Igino Stella, who has proposed in an anthological exhibition in Ascoli a quite big quantity of works, which included oils and wood carvings. Realised by his daughter, the exposition has included some works made at the end of the 60’s, and one in particular is realised with a nylon net, and it’s very suggestive for the technique adopted. “Recently – says Stella passing his nail on it – I discovered that it sounds!”. At the end of the walking, we find that the research of Stella isn’t a superficial research, but a research of sounder, of depth. It wants to clarify the existential motivations which take us to reflection and introspection. In his production, the painting syntax is declared by the line, by the volume and always by the colour; a colour that penetrates into the observer, ‘forcing’ him to participate. In conclusion, a meeting that has been a pleasure!”.
